  The World Heritage Site of  Caernarfon Castle is just 6 miles away from Sunnyside Cottages, and is possibly the most famous castle in Britain.  In 1969 it gained worldwide fame as the setting for the investiture of HRH Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales.  Port Meirion, the Italianate village designed by the renowned architect Clough Williams-Ellis, and the location of the 1960's TV serial 'The Prisoner', is only 25 minutes away from Sunnyside Cottages.
   A short car journey can take you to the 19th century neo-Norman Penrhyn Castle, situated just outside Bangor.  This castle was built on the profits of Welsh slate and Jamaican sugar.  It holds an outstanding art collection, and gives you a feeling of  life 'Upstairs -Downstairs'.  The area also boasts several National Trust properties and there are castles galore.  
   From historic houses and stately homes to slate caverns and steam railways, from sea zoos to mountain zoos and fun centres to spectacular gardens, the list of things to do in the area is endless, the only limit is your imagination... A warm welcome is awaiting you!
